Sophie is an enthusiast of the dramatic arts, with extensive experience in theater and film. Sophie is the founder of IWA, an Actors Studio and Productions platform that organizes an array of events, workshops, theater and film productions, master classes, conferences, seminars, and festivals. IWA collaborates with notable professionals from the US, Canada, the UK, and across the EU and holds an exclusive affiliation with the Beverly Hills Playhouse (BHP) in Los Angeles. Founded by the late Milton Katselas, BHP is a distinguished acting venue with celebrated alumni like George Clooney, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Kate Hudson. Since 2011, Sophie has been teaching BHP’s acting technique at the Michael Cacoyiannis Foundation (MCF).
In 2018-2019, Sophie directed and produced Allen Barton’s play “Years to the Day” at MCF, which received critical acclaim and was selected as one of LA Weekly's top ten plays in 2013.
As an independent film producer and consultant, she has contributed to multiple projects with a focus on business development, script commercialization, and marketing communications. Her credits include producing the short film "Au Revoir" in 2015 and co-producing the American film "Emma Blue" in 2008. She also secured funding for a feature at the American Film Market and represented the Greek Film Center at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival's “City to City” Program, which honored Greek directors.
Additionally in the past, Sophie served as a jury member at the London Greek Film Festival for five years. In 2022, she served as an acting coach on-set for the feature film "CAFE 404." In April 2024, Sophie was a jury member at the "Cyprus Film Days for Children & Youth" short film festival.
As an active member of WIFT GR, she led a seminar on "How to Break Down a Film Scene" in September 2023 and organized a Master Class with award-winning casting director Nancy Bishop in May 2024.
She currently teaches “Acting for Film” and "Talent Management" at Lakis Lazopoulos Theater School TEXNON EKATO at the Michael Cacoyiannis Foundation.
Sophie's training in dramatic arts is from the Toronto School of Drama, with a recent acting credit as Dr. Helen, a psychiatrist, in the Canadian comedy film “The Light Touch” directed by Robert Maclean.
Additionally, she is a certified life coach, affiliated with the Association for Coaching, and applies acting techniques in one-on-one coaching for CEOs and political leaders to enhance self-management, empowerment, and communication skills for public speaking.
Sophie has a business administration background from York University and the American College of Greece, with experience in management, marketing, and public relations, including roles at a prominent US advertising firm and a multinational cosmetics company.
