    Professional Experience

    Sophie has held various positions of responsibility and has extensive work experience in marketing communications as well as organization and production management in the theater and film industry.

    Theater & Film

    Founder & Managing Partner of iWa [International Workshops for Actors]

    With offices in Athens and Los Angeles, iWa offers specialized workshops for actors, directors and producers servicing their needs for the latest in professional development and artistic growth. iWa has a strong network professional from the global entertainment industry and provides a platform for Greek artists to expand their opportunities by networking and creating powerful relationship at an international level. iWa has an exclusive affiliation with the Beverly Hills Playhouse, one of the most prestigious and well respected actor venues in Hollywood - founded by Milton Katselas whose work towards helping theater and film Artists reach an international market is renowned.

    Further, she gives seminar coaching to amateur and professional actors on Acting techniques and Self-Management.

    As an Executive producer she has worked on various projects focusing on business development (script commercialization, production financing, distribution, etc). In that capacity she has represented Greek (Boo Productions - Oscar Nomination Foreign Film 2010) and Spanish production companies at the American Film Market (AFM) taking place annually each November in Los Angeles

    In 2008, she co-produced an independent film (Greek and US financing) that has been awarded the Silver Lei Award 'For Excellence in Filmmaking', the 'Best International Feature Film at the Heart of England International Festival and the 'Best Foreign Comedy Feature' at the Atlanta Underground and Cannes Independent Films Festival 2010 till date.

    Member of the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Jury Committee at the London Greek Film Festival (LGFF)

    Principal of UK's Helen O'Grady Drama Academy in Greece [2004-2006]. She taught Young School classes in Voice, Movement and Improvisation.

    As an actor she has performed in various theatrical plays with a focus on prose.


    Marketing Communications

    Sophie has over 10 years professional experience as an Executive in Marketing Communications during which she worked for a U.S. Advertising company, and a major multinational Cosmetics group in positions where she was responsible both for the organization and deployment of projects, as well as for the management and development of human resources.

    In 2005 - 2006, she freelanced events with the American Hellenic Institute-AHI in Washington D.C. and the American Foundation for Greek Language & Culture in Athens. She has been a frequent contributor of articles to magazines that cater mainly to the Greek Diaspora [Odyssey and Mia].
